The holiday season is over, but if you ask me, it’s always a great time for give aways. SO, I am giving away $50 gift cards to 3 lucky winners.
What do you need to do to enter? Weeelllllllllll…I’m in desperate need of new locations to photograph. I’ve conquered most of the beaches in South Bay and have photographed in most of the parks in the Torrance/PV/Manhattan Beach area. I’m looking for something different, and here are some of my thoughts…
urban – rusty fence, old buildings with lots of texture
color – colorful murals, buildings, flowers
open fields – tall grass, trees
Please e-mail me at sakuraphotography@gmail.com with suggestions or leave me a comment in my comment box. I will randomly choose 3 winners on next Sunday, 1/10 (aka my LAST day of vacation).
*$50 Gift Cards may be used ONLY for CD and print purchases, and may not be applied towards the sitting fee*
**Locations must be in the South Bay/Los Angeles/Orange County area**
…and since a post is not complete without photos, here are photos from some of my favorite places to shoot!

Here are my favs from last week’s family session.
Starting off with group shots…

I have a love-hate relationship with my assistant. Wait. I take that back. There’s a little more love than hate. Just a little.
If I have photographed you in the past, or if you have been following my blog/tweets/facebook updates, you know that my oh-so-handsome husband is my assistant. Well. Sort of. I “hired” him when his funding ran out of his second job (working with kids with Autism), as my tech support/second shooter. So far, he’s been pretty good. Not consistent, but good. He comes to most of my shoots and does one or more of the following…1) carries my equipment 2) cracks jokes to get natural smiles out of my clients 3) holds the reflector 4) fixes clothes/wipes snots. The ONE consistent thing he does is that he comforts me…just by being there.
Well…2009 is ending, and as I was looking back to all the images I have taken, I noticed a lot of photos of Jimmy that I’ve never shared. You see, I always do a test shot before shooting to check the lighting and my manual settings. And of course, Jimmy is the subject of my choice. So here you go…the many faces of James Koontz.
Here’s Jimmy sporting the reflector at an engagement session at Crystal Cove State Park.

He’s a very serious man.
He’s usually good and will just make funny faces as I check my settings.

But at times, he likes to fool around and waste valuable space on my memory card.

Sometimes, he’ll even model you a pose to show our clients what I am looking for.

All in all, he is just what I need. He makes me laugh and smile. And at the end of the day, that’s all I need.

Another “Just Because” session with a beautiful couple! I tried out different post processing methods, (thanks to my 3-week winter break), so let me know what you think!

Our signature frame is baaaack!

Wishing everybody a Merry Christmas! Here are the lyrics to my FAVORITE Christmas song (it’s from the N’SYNC Christmas Album)
It’s a wonderful feeling
Feel the love in the room from the floor to the ceiling
It’s that time of year
Christmas time is here
And with the blessings from above
God sends you his love
And everything’s ok
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays
…and here’s a horrible photo of me and Jimmy…

…not to mention the horrible Photoshopping…
Merry Christmas!
