At the beginning of the year, like every year, I wrote my resolutions. To be exact, I wrote 10 things that I hoped to accomplish by the end of 2009. One of them was to read 5 books. I know I know…that’s less than one book every other month, but it seemed easily attainable at the time.
Well…with 2 weeks left before my deadline, I have read 2 books. One on my own and one with my students.
Tuck Everlasting by Natalie Babbitt has won many awards and I can see why. It was easy to follow, had an exciting climax, and an unexpected ending that made some of my student teary.
RULES is a book about a boy with Autism, written from his sister’s point of view. The book illustrates day-to-day struggles and joys of having someone with Autism in your life. I highly recommend this book!
I am currently reading Smiles To Go by Jerry Spenelli, one of my all time favorite authors. So far, so good!
2 down…3 more to go!!
