Osaka jo, built in 1496, is one of the most famous castles in the world. The Castle grounds, which cover approximately 15 acres contain thirteen structures which have been designated as Important Cultural Assets.
I overhead a conversation between a young couple…
Girl: Who’s going to try to climb THAT wall?
Boy: A ninja
Hahaha…sorry, I thought that was totally funny.

They had holographic shows inside the castle.

Adios!
Photos from the Gion Festival in Kyoto. We managed to watch 5 out of 32 floats, which took about an hour.

The first float had a little boy with makeup. Love the colors!
We couldn’t stand the heat, so we took our little pathetic selves to an arcade. We had fun playing the drums…

…and Jimmy even won us a box of chocolates! It’s just what I needed…
*note* Japan has insane claw machines…you can win ice cream, a small vacuum cleaner, huge stuffed animals, costumes, trash can, etc.
After cooling down, we stopped at a temple to get a shot with the boys…

Wow…I’m so far behind on blogging. We have been waking up at the crack of dawn and coming home exhausted from walking and sweating.
Anywhoo, here are some photos of our first day in Osaka. We went to an outdoor shopping mall for some shopping, pachinko, and of course, food.
Here’s Jimmy having way too much fun with the crazy souvenirs.

A shot with “Billiken”, the “God of things as they ought to be”…don’t ask.

The shopping center is famous for their blowfish dishes.

Here are the photos from Tokyo Disneyland! Jimmy and I had a great day in the hot, humid sun. We managed to go to both Tokyo Disney Sea and Disneyland. One thing we noticed was that both parks sold lots of boxers…yes, boxers. Tons of them.
First up, Tokyo Disney Sea…
Cute details
The gondola ride
Entrance to my favorite ride…Journey to the Center of the Earth.

Out of all the characters, we managed to take a photo with him…who is this? I have no clue…

The Japanese have a crazy obsession with popcorn. They had curry, strawberry, cappuccino, chocolate, coconut, caramel, and sea salt flavors. EVERYONE had a souvenir bucket.
Off to Disneyland! We rode on the Haunted Mansion, It’s A Small World, and Pirates of the Carribean. Then came my absolute favorite…the Main Street Electrical Parade!
…all complete with Boo!
Photo of our dinner. Mushu pork shaped like Mickey, pork tortilla sandwich, and tea with tapioca.

25th anniversary show.

It’s hot, it’s humid, it’s crowded…but we love it! Here are some photos from yesterday…
Me and Anpan-man. Jimmy and Ultra-man. (In front of the Bandai headquarters)

In front of the Asakusa temple.

And then took a train to Shibamata. This picture is for my dad! I bet nobody knows who this is…
Green Tea Frappuccino at America’s best.
Arggg…we missed the train. When’s the next one? Oh…in 2 minutes!
Yodobashi-Akiba…the mecca of electronics at Akihabara. Jimmy and I were here for…hmmm…5 hours?

Back to Asakusa for some cool night shots…taken by THE wide angle photographer, James Koontz.

By the way, this is where we are staying…yea…I believe it’s smaller than the walk-in closet we had in San Diego.

That’s it for now! We will be going to Disney Tokyo today (I’m totally excited!) so be sure to check back in!
