At least once a year, Jimmy and I take a trip to San Francisco/Berkeley. Jimmy’s a hard-core UC Berkeley man (I’m talking tons of sweatshirts, decals, T-shirts, CAL backpack, etc), so this trip was especially special to him. He had every single detail planned…from where to go, where to eat, and what to see. Here’s a glimpse of our crazy adventure (we actually went for a friend’s wedding, but I didn’t take any pictures…and I’m actually ok with it!)
First stop…Museum of Sciences….complete with an albino alligator!

The rainforest section was pretty amazing!

You bet Yoda was on the list of things to see. Jimmy HAD to meet the oh-so-famous Yoda.

It was a beautiful day…

Before we left, we met up with Jennie at Betty’s Diner. After over an hour wait, we had a delicious meal! (note the random ppl in the back…I love it!)

Can’t wait to get back for more!
No, I don’t think that you care, but since I don’t really have anything to write about, and since all my shoots are being postponed because of the recent rain, here are some random facts about moi.
1) I was named after Julie Andrews. Well, kinda of. My dad LOVES the Sound of Music, so he decided to name my middle name after her. The thing is, we’re Japanese. And we Japanese people have trouble with the “L” sound. Therefore, my middle name is Judy. Judy with a D.
2) I have a thing for erasable pens. I don’t like to use pencils. It makes me cringe when I have to tell my students to use pencils instead of pens. I used to only use pencils when writing in my husband’s planner, but I’ve recently I’ve discovered erasable pens. And I am in LOVE with them!
3) I’m allergic to cats and horses. Like, seriously allergic. If I am in the same room with a cat for more than an hour, my eyes turn bright red and starts to water. Same thing with horses. In 2008, my college roommates took me to Medieval Times (upon my request) and I thought I was going to die. My throat basically shut down and I was unable to breathe or speak.

4) I’m horrible with directions. I’ll probably take the trophy for most-likely-to-get-lost-from-point -to-point B-even-with-precise-directions. I get lost all the time. My husband knows to be on call every time I leave the house. My friend Carol and I get lost EVERY TIME we visit our friend in Cerritos. AND WE GO THERE EVERY OTHER MONTH. Yea…we’re totally lame. (Here’s a photo of me and Carol)

5) I don’t change the empty toilet paper rolls. Don’t ask me why, I just don’t. It’s not that I’m lazy (although I know my husband would LOVE to argue that one). I just don’t like changing toilet paper.
Well…thanks for reading! I have a bunch of photoshoots scheduled next week, so be sure to check back. Thank you!!
Here’s another installment of Before & After! This one is our entryway…we first painted it orange-ish yellow and then then cut up contact paper for the tree, bird, and our little friend R2-D2. (courtesy of my husband).

After:

Yes, I do realize that the colors are totally off/different…the Before & After photos were taken at different times of the day, had mixed lighting, and is the result of poor planning…grr!

Homeownership comes with lots of responsibilities, much more than we ever expected. Such as…WE had to fix our washing machine when the pipe broke, WE had to make sure our chimney was in order, WE have to weed our lawn, and WE had to made sure our furnace was properly working.
Well, here in Southern California, we’ve been having some crazy weather. A tornado hit Orange County yesterday (whhaaat?), and people are getting evaculated from their homes due to floods. Well…Jimmy and I came home today from work to discover this…

Our backyard, completely flooded. Now what?
Stay tuned!
Last Sunday, I rushed out of church and drove to the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown LA for a session with the LA Shootout Group. I was hoping for the rain to hold off until the evening, but as soon as I got there, it started to rain. For a split second, I thought, “Hmmm…maybe I should leave”, but I’m so glad I didn’t! I met some great people and the models totally worked the camera! Here are my favs…
